Fox Maintains Lead In All-Star Voting White Sox Second Baseman Is Nations Favorite Player, With Musial Second Choice By the United Press Nelson Fox, diminutive tobacco-chewing second baseman of the front-running Chicago White Sox, maintained his lead over the pack in the All -Star baseball poll, but Stan "The Man" Musial dosed the gap to 1,611 votes. . "* Saturday latest results showed that Fox was the nations favorite ball player in the early balloting with 36,712 votes to Musials 35,101. Jackie Robinson, sparkplug of the power-laden Brooklyn Dodgers, was third in the voting with 35,563 votes and burly Eddie Robinson, first-baseman of the White Sox, is fourth with 33,514. The poll opened on Sunday, June 10, and runs until midnight, June 29.
