Joint Meeting of Two N ASRC Committees to Pick President BALTIMORE, Md., June 16.— The selection of a successor to Leo Edwards as president of the National Association of State Racing Commissioners is in-abeyance, and a joint meeting of the executive and advisory committees of the organization may be called to resolve the issue. "We are considering having the two committees get together around the table to discuss the matter," said Frank Small, Jr., a member of the Maryland Racing Commission and first vice-president of the national body, here today. Edwards, who was chairman of the Florida State Racing Commission, resigned the position following Gov. Fuller Warrens ousting of the entire five-man board in that state and his appointment of a new group. Under the constitution and by-laws of the NASRC, only an active commissioner can serve as president, and Edwards was automatically disqualified when he ceased to be a bona-fide member of a state commission. The executive committee consists of the three vice-presidents, Small, D. Thomas Testa, of Rhode Island, and Dwight Murphy, of California, and Hugh L. Me-horter, of New Jersey, and Mrs. A. E. Smith, secretary-treasurer. The advisory board is composed of past presidents of the NASRC, A. S. Drew, Louisiana; Earl J. Moyer, Nebraska; Ashley T. Cole, New York; Loyd Wright, California; Major Ednyfed Williams, Illinois Charles F. Conners, Massachusetts; Beverley Broun, West Virginia; John Sloan, New York; Edwin J. Brown, Washington, and Walter H. Donovan, Florida. Several of these are no longer racing commissioners, but such status is not | a requirement for membership on the advisory board.
