Jockey Monteiro Suffers Skull Fracture in Fall at Detroit DETROIT, Mich., June 16. — Jockey Arthur Monteiro, one of the better journey-, man riders here this season, suffered a fractured skull, a broken collarbone, and severe cuts and bruises when he fell with Milton Shagrins Sing Tu Lee inithe final race here Friday. Monteiro went down with his mount near the furlong pole during the stretch run and he was sent immediately to Highland Park General Hospital, where he is undergoing threatment. Jockey Hank Manifold, injured recently jn a training mishap, is also at Highland Park General Hospital. Manifold is making satisfactory progress, according to *ord from Dr. Malcolm Mac Queen, Detroit track physician.
