REBORN, unhurried when slow to settle into stride, reached contention from the outside and -was under urging to wear down MOMS CHOICE. The latter, always formidable, wrested command inside the furlong pole, but was unable to withstand the top one. BROAD CROSS sprinted clear early, held sway into the stretch and gave way. LADY PAM raced in contention for a half mile and weakened. SURPASS closed willingly. GOOD VALLEY lacked a response to pressure. CHEVY BONES was through early, as was ETERNAL DANGER. BUSY PAT, unhurried while the top pair dueled for command, rallied willingly when roused through" the stretch and drew clear. HARD TO GET engaged the leaders in the early stretch, but could not stay with the top one in the closing test. SHINE ON raced on the outside while racing with the pace, was bumped when TEN FORTY drifted out entering the stretch, then lugged in during the drive. TEN FORTY saved ground while holding a narrow advantage and, after bumping SHINE ON turning for home, was bothered when that one lugged in. Gardners claim of foul against SHINE, ON was not allowed.
