ROYAL SCOT worked his way up along the inside, drew dose to the leader at the furlong pole, swung to the outside and was moving clear at the end. BILL KEEFE disposed of AMEN after a half mile, drew clear, but was tiring near the end. AT EASE came to the inside on the final turn, then lacked a. closing rally. HOT TIME was never prominent. CAN LOCATE remained in closest attendance of the pace to the final turn, gained a slight advantage when roused, lost the lead inside the final sixteenth, but regained command under stout pressure. RABS SON slipped through along the inside to take the lead near the end and then faltered. JF COMING moved into contention in the stretch, but was unable to reach the leaders. ANNIES CHOICE, forwardly placed on the outside, drifted out on the turn and was unable to make up the deficit. LADY DELL passed tiring horses. BATTLE BORN dropped out of con- * tention early. GAY COURIER was kept within striking distance of the pace, moved to the outside after seven, furlongs, gained on the leader, but had- to be hard ridden to edge MIGHTY MASTER. The latter assumed command leaving the backstretch, drew clear, then weakened. IRMAS JIM established the pace under steadying restraint, came out slightly on the far turn, was unable to shake off opposition, but continued on gamely. TEL-AVIV raced close to the pace and held on gamely. BOSS H. made up ground in the late stages. SECOND TRY showed nothing. PINCERS weakened after forcing the pace. FULGURA trailed throughout. FREEDOM WINS, taken back off the pace and -steadied to the final quarter mile, came to the outside when roused, responded to pressure and was along to defeat COLUMN. The latter established a .slow pace, saved ground and held on gamely. MALSI, forwardly placed, came out slightly oh the final turn and was unable to regain lost ground.
