Soldier Son, With DeSpirito Up, Winner at Rockingham ROCKINGHAM PARK, Salem, N. H May .31. The combination of Irving Gush ens Soldier Son and Tony DeSpirito proved too much for their nine rivals in the Memorial Purse which featured .the opening day program at Rockingham Park today. The gray Irish-bred son of Montgomery-Irish Lassie n. sped tlie six furlongs in 1:10 flat and was an easy winner as he crossed the finish line five lengths before Henry A.; Kimballs Algasir. Another two and a half lengths back of the runner-up, Sam Tufanos Rush Prince gained the. minor award by a length over Phil Schwartzs Charleston. The victory of Soldier Son was very .popular with the majority of the 15,249 patrons. Installed, the choice in the Memorial, Installed, the choice, Soldier Son paid .40 and afforded DeSpirito his fourth triumph of the afternoon. The popular Lawrence, Mass., hooter won the second race with James B.
