Stewards Rulings LOUISVILLE, Ky., May 31. The stewards of the recently concluded Churchill Downs meeting have issued the following ruling: "The chemist representing the Kentucky State Racing Commission has reported that the urinalysis of the sample taken from the horse Dare Devil, winner of the ninth race at Churchill Downs, May 15, 1954, indicated the presence of a drug of the . nature of procaine, a local anaesthetic. "Pursuant to Rule 252 of the rules of racing of the Kentucky State Racing Commission, which says in part: " The trainer shall be responsible for and the absolute insurer of the condition of the horses he enters regardless of the acts of third parties, trainer D. L. Weitzel is suspended 60 calendar days, effective May 30. "The purse is forfeited and distributed as follows: first money to Rouge Me; second money to Prince Consort; third money to Bucks Freedom; fourth money to Bold Gal. The betting on the race is in no way affected. "Groom Alabama Harold Sanders, who was in charge of the horse Dare Devil, is suspended 60 calendar days, effective May 30." WHEELING DOWNS, Wheeling, W. Va., May 31. The following ruling was issued here today: "On the report of the chemist representing the West Virginia Racing Commission, the urine test of the horse, Star Child,- winner of the fifth race on May 19, 1954, disclosed the presence of a drug of the nature of procaine. Pursuant to rule No. 277 of the West Virginia rules of racing, trainer William F. Parks and the horse, Star Child, are suspended for six months from May 19, 1954 until November 19, 1954, and the . case is referred to the West Virginia Racing Commission for what further -action it deems necessary. "Redistribution of purse of fifth race May 19, 1954, follows: 1 Free Me, 2 Beats, 3 Winged Nymph, 4 Denton." AK-SAR-BEN, Omaha, Nebr., May 31. The stewards issued the following ruling under date of May 28: "Jockey Philip Tuccio is on this day suspended pending payment of a fine assessed at Fonner Park, Grand Island, Nebraska on May 14, 1954." ASCOT PARK,Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, May 31. The Ascot Park stewards issued the following ruling here today: "The sale of Marinikin to J. K. Wyn-koop, is approved and the mare placed in good standing BEULAH PARK, Grove City, Ohio, May 31. The stewards today issued the following ruling: "Jockey J. C. Fernandez is hereby suspended for a period of 10 racing days, effective June 1, through June 11, inclusive, for causing interference after leaving the gate in the running of the second race, Saturday, May 29." WATERFORD PARK, Chester, W.Va., May 31. The following ruling was issued by the stewards here today: "Jockey Raymond Arduini is suspended for 10 racing days from June 1 to 11, inclusive, , for careless, riding astride Happy Bull in the eighth race, Saturday, May 29, 1954." . AGUA CALIENTE, Tijuana, Mexico, June 1. The stewards issued the following ruling: "For careless riding while astride Ready Cash during the stretch, run in the fourth race, May 30, causing severe interference, jockey Wayne Burgin has been suspended 10 days commencing Tuesday, June 1, and culminating June 11."
