. , TV Golf Series Debut Tonight To Star Harrison and Revolta DeMet Inaugurates Weekly Show From Tarn OShanter; Evans, Hotf Amateur Pair Two of golfs greatest stars S. J. "Dutch" Harrison and Johnny Revolta will play starring roles when competitive golf makes its night television debut here tonight at 11 p. m. over station WNBQ, under the DeMet Pontiac banner. The DeMet Championship Golf series, featuring a regular weekly series of night golf tournaments in capsule form from the fairways of Chicagos famed Tarn OShanter Country Club, will be conducted exclusively for the television audience. Harrison, who currently ranks as the second leading money winner among the touring pros, will be the first in a parade of top professionals to appear on the TV series. Completing the foursome for the night golf match will be two top-notch Chicago amateurs, Charles "Chick" Evans of Edge water and Art Hoff of Edgewood Valley. Continuous Golf Spectacle According to Matt Niesen, producer of the show, the amateurs will play while the pros are walking from green to tee, thus giving spectators and television viewers a continuous golf spectacle. The links contests will be conducted in the a r e a of George S. Mays eighteenth green where a battery of lights has been installed to provide daylight illumination. The matches will consist of seven holes, ranging from 15 to 104 yards, with emphasis on skill in approach shots and putting, and with TV cameras spotlighting the action of each golfer. Viewers will have a unique opportunity of following the stroke-by-stroke progress of the match. The approach to the final hole of the match will be from .the spot where: Lew Worsham made his 5,000 wedge shot last " summer. In each weekly contest, the professionals will play for cash prizes, and the amateurs will vie for merchandise awards. Commentary on the action, along with v instructional interviews with golfers and guests at Tarn OShanter, will be conducted by Norm Barry.. DeMet Championship Golf Will move into the spot occupied since last winter by the popular DeMet Championship Bowling series. Many of the top golfers of the world will appear on the TV golf series, with most of these stars being at Tarn OShanter for the All-American "international and World Championship tournaments, August 5-15. In addition to prize money, golfers on the program will have an added incentive as sponsor Pete DeMet of DeMet Pontiac will award a new Pontiac to; any golfer who" holes out from the 104-yard spot where Worsham won enduring fame with his eagle deuce.
