Mistambo Makes Good On Final Ascot Program Nearly 10,000 Present in Perfect Weather for Fine Holiday Sport ASCOT PARK,, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio May 31. A large. Memorial Day throng of nearly 10,000 turned out to witness the final day of sport here at the Ascot Park Jockey Club. The weather was perfect and the track was fast, which was a very pleasant surprise to all concerned. After heavy rains on Saturday, it was expected that the strip would be no better than slow for Monday. John K. Wynkoops Mistambo, a good looking daughter of Mr. Bones, scored a two-length victory in the sixth race with the favored Coleridge finishing second another neck to the good of Al Niharts Beau-ville at the end of a mile and one-sixteenth. Kenneth Robertson rode the victress whb paid 0.80 being.timed in 1:48. Stuff gained the lead soon after the start and as the field raced by the finish line for the first time was in front by a length and one-half with -Mistambo second and Shocker a distant third. La Trap was fourth and Beauville in fifth position. The ultimate winner moved into the lead as the field entered the backstretch. Stuff was second and Shocker third another five lengths better than La Trap. Mistambo drew clear of the tiring Stuff by four lengths as she passed the three -eighths pole. The only horse that was making any kind of run at that stage of the race was the favorite who was moving along while between horses and was then fifth, five and one-half lengths off the pace. Robertson did a nice job of steadying his mount as she raced into the stretch and at the furlong marker was in front by four lengths. Coleridge had now moved into second position with Shocker third, Coleridge closed some of the gap in, the final furlong, but could not seriously menace the Jtop one who went about her business while being mildly urged by Robertson.
