HIPPOBON soon went to thei front* and hustled into a good lead, bore out around the stretch turn to carry MISS EYEFULL wide, and withstand her bid and then dreW but in the last eighth. MISS EYEFULL, moving fast, was forced wide.on -the stretch turn and weakened in the final drive. MIZ ZARETA finished steadily but did not threaten the first pair. ADMIRAL NELSON was never a factor. HAIL FELLOW made a fair move entering the. stretch, then" swerved and faded. TIGER TRIP tired badly in the last eighth. MISS ADA" was a trailer to the" stretch but finished strongly. UNCLE SUGAR was rushed into a good lead soon after the start but had little left for the stretch run: DIAMOND JOE was badly outrun all the way in 3 weak effort. AUBURN, TIGER had some early foot. WARLESS was a strong contender from the start and made a fair bid for the leadership in the stretch, then dropped back. COLISEO turned in an even effort but failed to threaten for the leadership. ROCK PILOT was rushed to the front at once to quickly open up a good lead and, not unduly hurried while making the pace, had ample time left in the stretch with which to withstand a bid from VALIDON and win under mild urging. VALIDON moved up while saving ground nearing the stretch turn and continued well to the end. JIMMY THE ONE was outrun early I but closed gamely. FOGONAZO passed tiring horses in the stretch. SILVER STATE and SIR TRIBAL stopped 6 badly after going six furlongs and neither seemed to care to much for the going. LEBANON LAD did not like the going. STONEY CREEK headed PHILIPS PAL when ready on the backstretch and, seemingly much the best in the going, pulled out as his rider pleased in the stretch and was taken in hand in the last thirty yards.
