Born Mighty Clocked Seven Furlongs In 7;25f in Prep for Withers Stakes j j Eiffel Slue and Golf Ace, * Also Pointing for Feature, Turn In Good Moves, Too By BOB HORWOOD BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., May 5. — Horses breezed in battalion strength at Belmont Park*-this morning, particularly on the fast main track, with several candidates for the Correction Handicap, Withers Stakes and Toboggan Cap going through drills. C. V. Whitneys Born Mighty, a Withers eligible, turned in an impressive seven furlongs in 1:25% on the main track. The stretch-running colt ripped off fractions of :35, :47, :59% and 1:12%, showing more than usual early speed. Over on the deeper training track, Danny Arnsteins" Eiffel Blue and Winding Way Farms Golf Ace, who are in both Saturdays Withers and Mondays Green-Vale purses at the same distance of a mile and one-sixteenth, went through five-furlong trials. Eiffel Blue was clocked in 1:03%, while Golf Ace turned in a speedy. 1:01%. Both preps were accomplished in handy style. On the same mile strip, Brookmeade Stables Lawless breezed a mile and a furlong in 1:59%. He also is eligible to the Withers. Parlo Correction Candidate Foxcatcher Farms Parlo, who is equal topweight with Myrtles Jet in Wednesdays six-furlong Correction Handicap, indicated that she will be ready to make her debut in tha*t event if trainer Dick Handlen wishes when she breezed that distance in 1:13 on the main track. Mrs. Ben F. Whit-akers Precious Lady, the lightweight of the Correction roster, went a handy six panels in 1:13% on the same track. Arnold Hangers Rico Romance, another Correction eligible, stepped an easy half in :48% in company withRico Reto. The pair were on even termsall the way in this effortless trial on the main track. Hilton "Rabbit" Dabson sent his Pau-monok winner, Nances Lad, five furlongs in 1:00%. on the main track. He is a probable starter in the Toboggan at six furlongs on the Widener Course here opening day, May 14. John Choquette was in the saddle this morning and the son of Slide Rule finished well after getting the first half in :48%. Over at Jamaica,- Frank C. Rand Jr.s Australian horse, Prince Morvi, went an impressive six furlongs in 1:14% from the gate. He worked in company with Irish Love. Mrs. Jan Burkes swift winner, Son of Erin, who is in Mondays Greenvale Purse and eligible to the Withers, turned in an excellent mile in 1:41%, also from the gate. None of the many stakes horses stabled at Aqueduct did anything more than, gallop this morning.
