Such thoroughbred stars as Doubledog-dare, Dogoon, Sea O Erin, Blue Choir, Judy Rullah, and Mister Black may be seen under colors as Balmoral launches its 30-day meeting at the Homewood, 111., course. . Racing secretary Fred Burton has announced impressive rosters of nominations to Balmorals first three stakes — 28 nominees to the opening-day. 5,000 LaSalle Handicap at six furlongs; 24 to the 5,000 Coronet Stakes for three-year-old fillies, Wednesday, May 16; and 27 to the 0,000 Continental Turf Handicap, Chicagos first grass stakes of 19"56, on Saturday, May 19. Heading the 28 nominees for the LaSalle which triggers Balmorals 10-stakes program are Hasty House Farms Sea O Erin E. Gay Drakes Dogoon and Jacnot Stables filly, Tremor. Hasty House also has named four other stars besides Sea O Erin. They are the Irish-bred Summer Solstice, winner of the Bougainvillea Turf Handicap at Hialeah; the Argentine-import Mister Black, and two mares, Queen Hopeful and Alspal. Tremor, Nirgal Lad Jacnot Hopefuls Jacnot Stable, Dixiana, and James L. Paddock each has two nominees to the LaSalle dash. Jacnot lists the good sprinter, Nirgal Lad, as a running mate with Tremor, recent winner of the Suwannee River Handicap at Gulfstream. Dixiana colors may be carried by Make Ready and Blue Hawaii, while Paddocks two hopefuls are Ja Ja, winner of the Louisiana Handicap, and Nonnie. Jo, who finished second in the LeCompte -Handicap at Fair Grounds. Other possible LaSalle starters are B. W. Landys Two Fisted, Harold G. Bockmans Happy Go Lucky, B and H Stables Rock Pilot, Claiborne Farms Delta, Mrs. Charles Silvers Prince Noor, Walmac Farms Vagabond King, and Louis Lee Haggin, LT.s Smart Devil. The Coronet Stakes at six furlongs looms as one of the best filly tests of the season. Twenty-four three-year-old fillies, including divisional contenders Doubledogdare, Guard Rail, Judy Rullah, .and Supple have been nominated for the mid-week feature. Chances are good that all four will be in the starting line-up. Also nominated for the six-furlong sprint are Mary V. Fishers Fideles; Herve Raci-vitchs Brookwood; Sam E. Wilsons Lady Swords; Howell and Smiths Grecian Ayr; Maine Chance Farms Warning Bell, and P. A. B. Widener His Ament. The Continental Turf Handicap scheduled at one and one-eighth mile has attracted 27 nominees, topped by Mrs. Harry L. Nathensons Irish-bred Blue Choir, winner of four major grass events last year, including the Balmoral Turf Handicap, and Hasty. House Farms duo of Mister Black, victor in the 1955 Continental and Summer Solstice.
