Housewife Picks Six Winners LAUREL, Md., May 5.— Mrs. Esther M. Moore, a 36-year-old housewife of Cedonia Avenue in Baltimore, was the winner of Laurels amateur handicapping prize here on Thursday. Mrs. Moore picked six winners on the eight-race program to top over 8,000 entrants. Her winning picks were Mid Stream, Ruth Wallis, Big Cat, Salix, Easy Sweep and Denny. Mrs. Moore is strictly an amateur, attending the races at Laurel occasionally. She recently purchased a piano and plans to put the prize money into music lessons for her three children.
