Miss Karen, a rank outsider in the wagering -in the curtain raiser, paid 5.80, 7.80 and -.60 across the board. The daughter og Grey Wing carried the silks of Dan Abbey across; the finish line a neck before J. C. Bunns Haskins.-who was installed as the public choice. Jockey J. King, who was astride the mare, celebrated his first saddle victory at the Fort Miami course. Haskins set the pace to midway of the stretch then could nptcope with the fast-closing eventual victress, who slipped through on the rail and was flying at the end. The seventh race, a six-furlong sprint for four-year-olds and older, will serve as the featured event on Mondays eight-race card an even dozen have been named in the overnight, entries. Among the 12 who will compete are C. Gallardos Ncell; L. Wilsons Suds Baby; T. K. Stables Shorty; Gordon Farms Big Dance; C. D. Steeles Charing Prince; ,D. E. Mowens -Ballyneety; Alex Johnsons Hy Limited; John Pryors Little Doc; T. Adams FlyingPlatter; E. Haggertys Fire Tower; F. C. Phillips Sir Gamble and U. S. Knight, who races in the partnership of Mrs. Knight and Mrs. Ei Skibba. U. S. Knight won his last here on Thursday and appears to be a- likely repeater. The son of Knights Caprice is in fine fettle and although he scored over a heavy racing strip he should have little trouble winning on a fast track which .may prevail here on Monday. Flying Platter displays lots of pep in his morning drills and may go well here. Shorty turned in a commendable effort at the Fort Miami oval several days ago and is likely to improve off that race while Big Dance may take down some portion of the purse on a peak effort. Of course, should an upset occur either of the other entrants are possibilities.
