Apple Blossom, Dogwood Share Spotlight at Ascot Sincerity in Former Sprint; Tetrabasic Threat in Latter ASCOT PARK, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, May 5. — The Ascot Park Jockey Club, Inc., goes into the 27th day of a 44-day meeting with the presentatiori of Mondays eight-race card. Racing secretary Charles F. Henry has again pulled one out of the hat, with the threat of showers over the week end, to come up with a card as well arranged as this one. There are two races to share the spotlight. In the sixth spot is the Apple Blos- som, and the seventh is the Dogwood, j The Apple Blossom is a six and one-half dash for four-year-olds and older horses and there are 13 in all, including a coupling, eligible to vie for a portion of the ,800 purse. The maximum starting field of 10 is practically assured, barring any un-forseen circumstances. Gaeta and Parziales Sincerity was victorious in the Cherry Blossom Purse, the feature offering last Thursday. The victory ] was so impressive that he will be difficult to overlook in an event such as vthis. Under apprentice Guy Smithsons handling, he reached the wire six and one-half lengths in front of Botten Bucket-Stables Barge jln. I The strip was heavy for that seven panels, though Smithson had the Robert Mor- ris horse going in the better part of the track for the test. Off that performance, a possibility of a better strip for Monday would not deter from his chances. M. Brandts Tetrabasic appears a dangerous candidateor the major portion of j the Dogwood. In his most recent outing, a mile and one-sixteenth affair over a very heavy track, he took the top to open a good lead before going six furlongs, and wound up second, a length behind the hard-hitting Lukas campaigner, Bless Me Too.
