GOLD GIN was unhurried early, started to rally after three quarters, then moved between the leaders entering the stretch and in a punishing drive was drawing out at the finish. HI-ROCK launched a strong move leaving the far turn to enter the stretch with a clear advantage and while holding on gamely could not keep pace in the final yards. BATTLE OATH disposed of MERRY MOUNT entering the backstretch, then opened up a good advantage and readily gave way to HI-ROCK entering the stretch and tired. LITTLE LUCKY passed tiring horses.
