Work on Audubons New Track Progresses for May 29 Opening OpeningHENDERSON HENDERSON Kk May 3 Workers at Audubon Park Raceway Kentuckys newest running track are taking full advantage of a good break in weather to convert Audubons old hardpacked harness track into a sandy loam cushioned track for run ¬ ners The first running meet is scheduled to get underway May 29 and will run through June 22 22There There will be eight races daily starting at 230 pm CDT with the Daily Double on the first two events The minimum purse for any one race will be 1000 with approximately 160000 in purse money for the full meet meetRacing Racing secretary Jack Klucina an ¬ nounced yesterday that he has received applications for over 700 horses to date General manager Francis G Stader stated that a walking ring has been added situ ¬ ated between the paddock and grandstand He also said that chutes being added to the mainstretch and backstretch would be completed shortly and that the track would be ready for training for early arrivals May 15
