Stewards Rulings i — — j BAY MEADOWS, San Mateo, Calif., May 7. — The Ba Meadows stewards received the following protest and made the accompanying ruling in connection with the claiming of the horse Romanium here last Saturday: " T, William Sargent Jr., authorized agent and trainer for Harry James, hereby protest the claim of the seven-year-old gelding Romanium out of the ninth race May 4, 1957. Reason: The claimant, W. R. Johnson, had no horses registered on the grounds at Bay Meadows at the time the claim was filed. "The stewards, after due consideration, hereby allow the protest and rule that, inasmuch as W. R. Johnson had no horses on the grounds at Bay Meadows at the time the claim was made, having shipped his entire stable elsewhere late in April, he is no longer a participant in the racing at Bay Meadows and was not eligible to claim. Ohio, May 7. — The Ascot Park stewards issued the following ruling here today: "For harboring a two-year-old on the grounds of Ascot Park, in willful violation of track rules, trainer J. Mc-Farlan is fined the sum of 00 and ordered to remove the two-year-old from the grounds within 24 hours."
