TITIAN MAID quickly set up a clear lead, raced slightly off the rail throughout and. under strong handling, withstood PERMAN at the wire. The latter moved from between the leaders to reach near even terms with the winner going into the stretch anc, in a long drive, just failed to get up. SARA-CHANA saved ground throughout, made a bid into the stretch along the inside, then weakened in the last sixteenth. FANELIS ALLEY raced wide throughout while weakening. ALIDA rallied strongly leaving the far turn and, coming to the outside of the leaders, closed with a good burst of speed down the middle of the track and was along in the late yards. MISSY ROMAN, well placed from the start, assumed command into the stretch, drew clear but could not cope with the winner in the late yards. MISS MODISTE, hard pressed early to keep the lead, weakened under pressure in the drive. RON WAY flattened cut in the last eighth. FARMERSVILLE failed to enter contention. BELLDIVER, between horses from the start, forged to the front before a half mile, drifted out very badly into the stretch, bumping and carrying DIVING BOOTS with him, then drew clear in the last sixteenth while continuing to drift out. GOLDEN FIDDLE, forced to take out from the inside when impeded by SCARLET IBIS midway of the backstretch, closed a good gap of ground in the last quarter mile. SCARLET IBIS dropped to the inner rail midway of the backstretch and, saving ground thereafter, tacked the necessary rally. PINK SANDS weakened in the last quarter. DIVING BOOTS, forwardly placed on the outside of the leaders, was carried very wide into the stretch while being bumped by winner and flattened out under pressure. — - Golden Fiddle claimed by S. FRESH AND FAIR set the early pace but faltered steadily after being displaced from the lead. NOBLE WHILLY outfinished CUT OUT. The latter made a mild bid before a half nvie. then faltered.
