Three Derby Horses Were Garden State Top Finishers GARDEN STATE PARK, Camden, N. J., May 4. — There was a flashback to the 1958 running of the worlds richest race, The Garden State, when the first three horses battled to the wire Saturday in the Kentucky Derby. Last October 25 the same three — First Landing, Tomy Lee and Sword Dancer — finished that way in the juvenile championship race. The order was changed in the Derby, but the margins were identical. In the Garden State, First Landing beat Tomy Lee a muddy head with Sword Dancer two lengths back. In the Derby, Tomy Lee had a nose on Sword Dancer with First Landing two lengths to the rear.
