The latter wrested command near the furlong pole and held on gamely. OIL HEIRESS, outrun for a half, finished with good energy. JOYOUS MAID weakened under pressure during the final furlong. MISS WOODCHUCK lacked sufficient late response. PLAYFUL NURSE held a menacing position but was without a rally. TROUSSEAU gave way badly after having been closest to the pace. WANDERLUST was outrun. The latter responded readily to reach the leaders near the furlong pole, then fought it out willingly. OLD TIMER was with the pace from the start and weakened only slightly to finish in a dead-heat with ESS DEE. The latter lacked a late surge. TIME TO SELL was taken up entering the stretch and failed to recover. Lovatos claim of foul against WEATHER PROPHET for alleged interfernce entering the stretch was disallowed. SCOTCH CROSS failed to reach contention. CHASMAR FLASH was hard pressed while in front and faltered. ICH BIN was through early, as was BODYGUARD.
