• — _ Mark Antony 121 For Suffolk Turf Regard Irish-Bred Doubtful; Washington Assigned 120 for Saturdays 11-16 Miles Test By ELI CHIAT Staff Correspondent SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., May 4. — Mrs. John Payson Adams Mark Anthony, who presently is at his owners farm at Portsmouth, R. I., where he was blistered for a filling in his leg, has been assigned the top weight of 121 pounds for Saturdays 5,000-added Suffolk Downs Turf Handicap. In all probability, the Irish-bred five-year-old horse who established a worlds record for a mile and 70-yards last year will not be a starter in the about 1 1-16 miles test on the turf. This will leave the assignment of highweight carried to W. Arnold Hangers Washington, who is being asked to carry 120 pounds. Washington, a four-year-old son of Big dipper II.— Huldah J., has been out of the money only once this year in six starts, winning two two of these races while being second on two other occasions. One of his victories was registered over the lawn at Hialeah this past winter. Brookmeade Stables Big Effort is next in line for the Turf Handicaps with 118 pounds. Only this past Saturday the four-year-old daughter of Endeavour II. — Sun Mixa carried 122 pounds to her second victory of the year in the Bed o Roses Handicap at Jamaica, defeating a band of matrons. Village Idiot Second in Special Alfred G Wynne Vanderbilts Village Idiot and Colonial Farms Fairfield are next with 118 pounds apiece. One of the Village Idiots two victories this year was a grass allowance race at Hialeah. He turned in one of his best efforts in the 1958 Nar-ragansett Special, losing by a nose to Sharpburg. From the local handicap ranks, likely candidates are: Mrs. Rose Robidoues Deep Thought, 116 pounds; L. P. Sommers Camarista II., 115; Red Head Stables Flying Bird, 114; Peter Fullers Goulash, 113; Sidney Bartons Greek Star, 112; Pete j Issaris Saratoga Pete, 112; Roxbury Stables OKeegan, 111, and Bill Resseguets War Signals, 111. The latter was an upset winner of the 0,000-added Puritan Handicap here last, Saturday, while Greek Star finished second, a half length behind the winner.
