HARRYS REWARD was slow to gain best stride, moved through on the inside while on the stretch turn and then easily improved his position. DICTIONARY ranged up on the outside while on the turns and then faltered. ELAINE RUTH gained a short lead while along the rail and then drifted out when tiring. HATFIELD was in close quarters just after the start, moved through ! a small opening racing into the far turn and then flattened out after looming the most dangerous on the turn. LOTUS EATER was allowed to settle into best stride, moved from the outside of CROSS RING through the stretch and was up in the final strides to gain the narrow decision. The latter raced in the first flight soon after the start, saved ground on the turns, disposed of YEA BAMA on the stretch turn to draw clear and was then unable to hold the top one in the late stretch. SHAMROCK, well back in the first three-sixteenths, moved up rapidly from the outside and closed the best of any. SKIN JUNIOR raced evenly for the most part. MAHPLAY was never a serious contender. YEA BAMA had nothing left for the final drive. MARSHAL AT ARMS quit badly. CLICK-CLICK had brief speed and then tired.
