Offer 86th Belmont This Saturday Stars of Filly-Mare Brigade In Wednesdays Top Flight Jamie K., First Glance and Belluno Equal Topweights For Gold Heels on Monday BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., June 5. The eighty-sixth running of the 00,000 Belmont Stakes at a mile and one-half brings the "Meeting of Champions" to a close next Saturday. This classic event, which much more often than not establishes the three-year-old champion of the year, will this year probably not attract either the winner of the Kentucky Derby Determine or the Preakness winner Hasty Road, but is expected to test such potential champions as Llangollen Farms Porterhouse, C. V. Whitneys Fisherman, Greentree Stables Diving Board, King Ranchs High Gun and Maine Chance Farms Jet Action, who are in todays Peter Pan Handicap, against Robert S. Lytles Correlation, Mrs. J. R. H. Thourons War of Roses, Greentrees Palm Tree, Wheatley Stables Fjill Flight and possibly Llangollens Ordained and two or three others. War of Roses, Palm Tree, Full Llight and Ordained are in todays Kent Stakes at Delaware. Hasty Road is on the grounds here at Belmont Park, but is considered a doubtful starter despite his courageous victory in the Preakness, .in which he beat Correlation by a desperate neck. That Californian came back with a bad race behind War of I pneae in the -Tpvspv stakes, in which he bore in badly all the way, but, like Hasty Road, is receiving electrical treatments at Belmont Park that may prove effective. Woodvale Farms Goyamo, who finished fourth in the Derby and Preakness and was withdrawn from next Thursdays Fasig-Tipton sale because of tendon trouble, is eligible to the Belmont, and breezed six furlongs in 1:16 this morning. It would not be much more surprising to find him in the Belmont field than it was to see him breezing this morning. Prospects forvTop Flight The other stake on the final week here at Belmont Park is Wednesdays 5,000 Top Flight Handicap, richest event of the session for fillies and mares. The Top Flight at a mile and a sixteenth is expected to bring together such fleet distaff runners as Atalanta, La Corredora, Sunshine Nell, Home-Made, Lillal, Nothird-chance, Emardee, Gainsboro Girl, Cana-diana, Intercion. Spinning Top and Lavender Hill, as well as a few others. A bulky field is in prospect at this writing, though Atalanta and Lillal, of the high weights, may not ship in for the stake. Mondays program is headed by the ,500 Gold Heels Purse, an allowance event at six furlongs with a field of" seven. Spring Hill Farms Jamie K., Alfred G. Vanderbilts First Glance and C. T. Chen-erys Belluno are the topweights with 124 pounds each. Jamie K., who last year gave Native Dancer hard races in the Preakness and Belmont Stakes, is in the process of being converted to a sprinter, a throat condition precluding his carrying his speed more than seven furlongs. The son of Crowfoot was sharpened with a good speed trial yesterday morning. First Glance, a former stakes star, has not been seen locally this spring, but has been training in clever style, while Belluno comes from a fair race behind Fly Wheel on May 24. Hedley Woodhouse will ride Jamie K., Eric Guerin will be on First Glance and Eddie Arcaro will pilot Belluno. Michael F. Drinkhouses Chief Fanelli, G. D. Wideners Scent, and John S. Phipps Pleiades carry 116 each, while the field is completed by Mrs. R. L. Gerrys Master Ace with 113 pounds. Chief Fanelli has not been seen since April 27, when he won a sprint at Suffolk Downs. Scent finished behind Jamie K. when both were beaten off in the Roseben Handicap won by White Skies and Pleiades in making his seasonal, debut. Master Ace won with a 2,500 claiming tag here, then tired badly on Thursday to finish second to Mr. Turf as a 2-to-5 favorite. Dave Gorman will guide Chief Fanelli, Sidney Cole is on Scent, Bill Boland rides Pleiades, and Bennie Green will handle Master Ace.
