Rhodesian Equals Record A Rhodesian jockey, Pieter Phillipus Strobel, equaled the world record of 12 winners in succession, established by Englands Sir Gordon Richards, early last July. Stroebel started his winning streak at the Bulawayo Turi: Club meeting on June 7, when he captured the last race of the day. won all six races carded at the following meeting at the end of the month, and on July 7 scored in the first five races. The sequence followed the pattern established by Sir Gordon, Englands greatest rider, in 1933. Sir Gordon rode the winner of the last race at Nottingham on Oct. 3, all six winners at Chipstow the following day, and the first five on the second day of the Chip-. stow session.
