STROLL ALONG, away well and showmg good speed, took command and, opening up a winning lead in the stretch, had to be hard urged near the end. VENDACE, a factor from the start, closed resolutely. JESTING was forced to race on the outside, but held PERFORMANCE safe. The latter was unable to reach a forward position. BLACK SAMBO was outrun. OLD FIELD was shuffled back after the first sixteenth. BRIGHT PATTERN was never a factor. CARTE BLANCHE showed early speed. FRANCIS, restrained for the first turn of the field, worked his way to the leaders rapidly while jumping boldly and. wearing down CAHIRCIVEEN going to the last fence, fcrew out on the flat near the end. SHYLOCK. far back for the first mile, improved his position steadily and finished courageously. CAHIRCIVEEN took an easy lead and, saved until challenged, tired fast thereafter. HAMPTONIAN was away poorly when he half wheeled at the start, but gained slowlv near the end. SWEESIE raced forwardly for a mile and tired. RIENZI was never a factor. HIGHLAND CAPTAIN lost his rider at the last jump. DOCK LIGHT lost his at the twelfth. PROOF POSITIVE ran out at the tenth fence, was taken back and finished the course. DAMRINDA refused at the ninth obstacle. PURPLE DUST lost his rider at the seventh and WONDER his at the third. MISS PURAY, outrun for the first half mile, swung to the outside when moving to the leaders at the final eighth post and, closing resolutely, was drawing clear under urging. BALLYGRAN raced STAR PORTER and WEDDING RING into defeat, but could not withstand the winner. STAR PORTER, a factor throughout and strongly handled, held on well in the final drive. MARVAN, slow to get going, weaved his wav between the others in the final stages and finished fast. PAINT BOX could not menace the leaders. WEDDING RING tired fast in the final drive. BERTRANO raced well. PROJECTILE saved ground all the wav and was being eased up when unable to reach contention. DANCING MACK outran the othors to the first turn and, saving ground, shook off challenges from TULACH ARD, but had to be hard ridden to outfinish BOKIE B. The latter, saved behind the pace, moved up steadily in the last half mile, came through on the inside of TlLACH ARD and LILLYBET on the stretch turn and was wearing down the winner. LILLYBET began in motion, but dropped back leaving the back stretch and. hard urged, outlasted TULACH ARD. The latter challenged resolutely on the far turn and held on well. FAIR AVIS was outrun.
