The first of the trio to be , offered, the others being the Arlington Lassie Stakes and Arlington Futurity, will be the Hyde Park Stakes, which closed March 15 with 251 nominations from ninety-five different interests. With 0,000 added and ,275 already in the pool from the 5 entrance fee from each of the 251 entries, the Hyde Park will gross 4,275 should there be fifteen starters paying 00 each. Of this amount the | winner will receive 1,775. Mrs. John Hertz Pairbypair collected 0,675 in winning last summers running, the third, of the event. William R. Coe, who races one of the largest strings in the country under the direction of Bennett Creech, is the largest individual nominator with an even dozen, the majority of which are by the sensational young sire Pompey, whose first crop of winners last season included Osculator, Polonaise and Pompeius. The Greentree Stable of Mrs. Helen Hay Whitney made eleven entries, the get of such prominent stallions as Sir Gallahad III., St. Germans, St. James, High Time, Upset and Chance Play. Morton L. Schwartz and Mrs. John Hay Whitney each named seven of their juveniles for the Hyde Park. The formers included Union, a half-brother to Clock Tower, a possible star in handicap racing this season. Mrs. Whitneys nominations include Crowning Glory, a half-brother to Pairbypair, the 1931 winner of the event. Other leading nominators and the number of their entries follow: E. R. Bradley, Dix-iana, Willis Sharpe Kilmer, Mereworth Stud, Howard Oots, Albert Sabath and C. V. Whitney, six each; Audley Farm, Dorwood Stable and Shandon Stud, five each; Horace N. Davis, Marshall Field, Fred M. Grabner, Cary T. Grayson, K. E. Hitt, S. W. Labrot, John Marsch, J. B. Respess and Three Ds Stock Farm, four each. ♦
