VERCHERES HANDICAP MONTREAL, Que., May 30. Joseph Cat-tarinich, president of the Montreal Jockey Club, is concentrating the bulk of his large stable at Blue Bonnets race track, which opens its doors June 3. During that meeting on June 9, to be exact the Vercheres Handicap will engage a band of good two-year-olds over five furlongs, and Cattarinich is eager to add this turf prize to his collection. The Vercheres Handicap was named for Vercheres Farm, the Cattarinich breeding farm near Montreal where the famous Cudgel stands at court, and this explains his keen interest in the juvenile race.
