CHURCHILL DOWNS STATISTICS E. R. Bradley, Brokers Tip and Westrope Louisville Leaders. Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks Victory Give Winning Honors to Idle Hour Farm Owner. Horsemen did not have much to com- plain of at Churchill Downs during the nineteen-day meeting at the popular Louisville track when the management distributed 58,846.57 daily. The total for the meeting was 68,085. Opening on April 29, the meeting ran to May 20, the Kentucky Derby being decided on May 6. Edward Riley Bradley, owner of Idle Hour Farm, whose Brokers Tip won the Kentucky Derby, was the leading money-winning owner with 6,175. In addition to his Derby victory, the fourth of his career as an owner, the brilliant filly Barn Swallow also carried his green and white silks to an impressive victory in the Kentucky Oaks. Mrs. Silas B. Mason, who purchased Head Play on the eve of the Derby, then saw him beaten by inches in the blue ribajid of American turf events, was second among the owners with ,600. Brokers Tip, of course, headed the money-winning horses with 8,925. His Kentucky Derby victory assured him of first place among the horses. Head Play was second and the swift filly, Miss Patience, Bashfprd Manor Stakes winner, topped Osculator, Clark Handicap winner, with ,590 to her credit. Barn Swallow followed Osculator in the ranking. J. Westrope, one of the most promising young riders in the country, scored on twenty of his mounts to take first place among the jockeys. C. Corbett rode fifteen winners and E. Porter twelve. Clyde Van Dusen was the leading trainer with seven winners. Willie Crump, who sold Head Play to Mrs., Mason before the Derby, was second with five winners, but he was tied with the Bradley trainer, H. J. Thompson, and J. T. Weaver, who also saddled five winners. Following are the owners whose horses won ,530 or more: Owner. 1st. 2nd. 3rd. Amt. Bradley, E. R 7 6 3 6,175 Mason, Mrs. S. B 0 1 0 6,000 Coe, W.
