! ! ; , j ; SWEEPRUSH AURORA LEADER Illinois Derby Winner Heads List of Money Winners. . - High Percentage of Winning Favorites at Exposition Park J. T. Looney Lead- : Ing Money - Winning Owner. . The Exposition Park meeting at Aurora, opening on May 1 and running to May 20, saw winning horsemen divide a total of 9,-905, a daily average of ,883.61 for the eighteen-day meeting. One hundred and twenty-six races were run. J. T. Looney, "Burgoo King" of Louisville after whom E. R. Bradley named the Ken--tucky Derby, winner of 1932, was the leading money winning owner, with ,455 to hi3 credit. Octave Viau was second with ,010, and H. C. Rumage third with ,700. Sweeprush, winner of the Illinois Derby, headed the list of money winning horses with ,455. Wood River, consistent plater and winner of four races, was second with ,690. Monte Parke took the riding honors when he scored with sixteen of his mounts, but he was closely pressed by L. Hendricks, who won fifteen times. Viau saddled seven winners to lead the trainers. H. C. Rumage had six winners to his credit and E. Haughton and B. Parke four each. The percentage of winning favorites was .43. During one week of the meeting, despite an almost continuous succession of days with a muddy track, the percentage of winning favorites almost reached the .60 mark.
