t BOWIE TURF NOTES 1 $ : Ex-Vice-President Charles Curtis was an early arrival and witnessed the closing program from his box in the clubhouse. William Irvine, trainer of the S. W. Labrot stable, will transfer fifteen racers to Arlington Park Thursday. The apprentice rider H. Cruz, who has been riding with considerable success, will accompany the J. B. Belk stable to New York. Charles Ulbig will handle the lads engagement book. Jockey A. Tipton, under contract to G. W. Ogle, resumed riding Tuesday, after serving a five-day suspension for rough riding on Modern Times. George Brown, Jr., steward, representing the Maryland Racing Commission, will leave for Arlington Park at the conclusion of the five-day meeting at Hagerstown. Allan Ryan, owner of the Anall Stable, remained to witness the Memorial Day program, but was sadly disappointed when Larranaga was forced to be scratched from the feature, owing to track conditions. Flying Max, a scheduled starter in the third race, was ordered withdrawn by the stewards. Some controversy exists as to the ownership of the racer. A. B. Berger, Jr., who has several good platers that are being trained by Lew Christ, has canceled his stalls at Hagerstown and will ship direct to Mount Royal. J. C. Kirkpatrick shipped Revonah, one that he claimed earlier in the meeting, to Canada for the summers sport. J. P. Jones, of Virginia, will ship eighteen from Pimlico to New York via Beitlers vans. Trainer Jimmy Stewart announces that Ray Tubbs Stroll Along spread a hoof during the running of Saturdays race.
