1 ROCKINGHAM PARK NOTES ] s 1 W. H. Gallagher, well known New York sportsman, is sending his stable to Narra-gansett Park, Rhode Islands new race track, for the initial meeting. Trainer John L. Donovan, of the Gallagher stable, has filed application for twenty-two stalls. The best in the Gallagher barns will be seen in "little Rhodey" during the August meeting. Star Fire, winner of New England States Claiming Handicap, will be one of the many to go at Walter OHaras track. Mr. Gallagher has one of the best and largest stables now campaigning at Rockingham. The Rockingham officials are doing every thing in their power to help Narragansett Park put over their first meeting. In the secretarys office, Stanley Gillespie, Jim Monroe and the rest of the boys are giving out application blanks, stake books and registration blanks to many of the horsemen now at the Salem oval. In the minds of some people it was thought that there was a lot of animosity towards the new Rhode Island race course, but if the cooperation shown the Narragansett Park people by the Rockingham secretarys office is any criterion, then everything is all quiet along the Potomac and harmony continues in New England racing. State Auditor of West Virginia, Mr. Tut-weller was an interested spectator at Rockingham course today. Senator Charles Toomey, of Rhode Island, viewed the sport from the clubhouse.
