] DETROIT TURF NOTES ] $ $ Apprentices F. Fernandez and M. Winters led the riders during the past week. They had nine winners each. L. Dronet was third with four winning mounts, while H. Callahan, A. Daniels and F. Mauro came next with three each. Judge Joseph A. Murphy, who is serving as racing secretary, is making an effort to fill a two-mile race for next Saturday. The race is open to four-year-olds and over and will carry a ,000 purse. There will be a race for stable ponies Friday. Charles J. McLennan came over from Arlington Park for a conference with judge Murphy. Young McLennan returns here at the close of the Arlington Park meeting to take over his duties as racing secretary. The Elmtree Stable of J. G. Lang, which, took in the Fort Erie meeting, will return here Tuesday, and Mose Goldblatt will bring twenty-two head here Friday from Latonia. Jockey J. Marinelli, who is with the Young Bros, stable, accepted his first mount Monday. According to word received here, fifteen two-year-olds remain eligible for the Texas Breeders Futurity. The race will be one of the featues to be decided during the fall meeting at Arlington Downs, which gets under way October 25. The horses Amos Wallin brought here for W. C. Goodloe are Amazing, Delano, Forest Avenue, Breezing Along, Cynwyd, Rose Moss, Caroline C, Waterfront, Florence Louise, Golden Ruth and five two-year-olds.
