MESTALLUP was hard ridden all the way. RUSKIT closed a gap in the stretch. OLD FASHIONED had no mishaps. EDWARD raced evenly. PURPLE GOLD could not reach the leaders. BANDALORE was kept close to CATSWEEP from the start and, responding gamely in the stretch, withstood a hard drive gamely and was up near the finish. CATSWEEP began fast, was rated in front and held on stubbornly under punishment. HYMARQUE was unable to menace the first two. PHARENOUGH was bothered soon after the start. PROVEN was rushed into the lead, but tired steadily in the stretch when crowded back by the winner. TIMON, slow to get going, circled the others and finished -resolutely. MAEANTIC came again in the stretch. ARCHWOOD tired after moving up entering the stretch.
