GALLANT MAC IN FRONT the winner needed little urging to supplant Flying Justice in the pacemaking, and once in the lead she had little difficulty leading home her rivals. Fair Image, which gave such a creditable performance last out, was outrun throughout in her engagement in this, and despite the strong riding of R. Jones failed to be a factor. Juveniles of the middle flight met in the fourth race, which resulted in a decisive victory for R. A. Firestones Hope Eternal, which was ridden by Wayne Wright, who scored his second consecutive success, Having piloted Miss Melody to victory in the third race. C. V. Whitneys Wild Pigeon raced to place, two and one-half lengths behind the victress, while third went to the well backed Hathy, which was the victim of a poor ride by apprentice Paul Keester, who gave a rather listless exhibition. Polly Rita, another that had many admirers, gave a dull performance when she not only failed to share in the purse, but at no time during the running did she give a semblance of keeping up with the successful ones. Milers of the cheap variety went postward for the sixth race. This resulted in a victory for Joseph Genglers Golden Words, which was installed the favorite and never gave his admirers any concern after leaving the half-mile post, where he took the lead and won thereafter. The real thrill in the race came in the final stages, when Prince Deo, which set the pace for a good part of the journey, until being supplanted by the winner, just managed to nose out Temple Dancer, which finished with belated speed. Renaissance and Black Fool, which came in for substantial support, failed to finish among the money winners after racing close up to the stretch.
