1 FORT ERIE TURF NOTES | $ — _ ® Advices were received from Montreal that the stable owned by R. Robertson was en route to Stamford Park. A division of the H. C. Hatch stable which was campaigned on the Quebec circuit by W. H. Bringloe was unloaded without mishap at Stamford Park. S. S. Friedlein arrived from Syracuse with five horses. Apprentice J. Prieto, who is under contract to Friedlein, came along to do the riding. Armstrong, a juvenile in the stable of H. W. Sage, was withdrawn with the permission of the stewards out of the second race. The youngster was also excused on Saturday when he grabbed himself during a workout. Track superintendent R. E. Cody of Stamford Park has a full staff of men working beautifying the plant for the forthcoming meeting which starts Saturday, July 21. The racing strip was never in better condition. Jockey J. Passero arrived from Montreal and immediately got into action. Passero states that G. C. Brenton is considering shipping to Stamford Park. Apprentice G. Watson, brother of R. Watson, who is riding here, checked in from Montreal and will shortly be seen in the saddle. C. J. Patchett brought four horses from Montreal. They are Refiner, Toe Dance, Don Sweep and Rock Crest. W. H. Wright, who has a large string quartered at Fort Erie in charge of M. Mac-Iver, was on hand to inspect the horses. Walter Mara, who did the starting at the recent Charles Town, W. Va., meeting departed for Sheepshead Bay to visit his sister before leaving for Rockingham Park. Sabana was excused from fulfilling her engagement in the fourth race.
