CHANCEVIEW PLEASES OWNER ARLINGTON, Texas, April 18. J. J. Flanigan, trainer of the Woodward and Smith horses and the owner of Chanceview, one of the leading eligibles for the Kentucky Derby honors, was very much pleased this morning when he learned that the son of Chance Shot had worked an easy mile in 1:45. "I received word from Tommy Oliphant, who has the horse at Churchill Downs, that he was training famously," said Flanigan. "Oliphant asked that he be named for the Detroit, American and Latonia Derbys and the Classic Stakes, and I am mailing the nominations today." Flanigan is sending the Woodward and Smith horses to Alamo Downs, but he expects to leave for Churchill Downs a week before the running of the famed classic, and will remain there for the race. At the close of the San Antonio season, Flanigan is shipping the Woodward and Smith stable to Washington Park.
