The aging Dr. Freeland came out of his engagement Tuesday very sore and will be on the shelf for some time. After being the chief causes of the long delay at the start of the eighth race Tuesday, Semester and Dodiodo were placed on the stewards list. Blue Cat, Betty Wee, Frigate Bird, Gay Banner, King Today, Lot-ofus, Little Honey, Jack B., Marchline, Out Bound, Transen and Vicki comprise starter Roy Dickersons schooling list. Ross Higdon is vanning the Eskay Stable to Dallas for that meeting, and from there the stable will be shipped to Washington Park for the opening of the major Chicago season. Higdon announced that he purchased the St. Germans mare Daisy Cutter from Dr. C. N. Finch, and that she was shipped to the Paul Fred Farm, where she will be bred to Witchmount. Higdon is acquiring manyWhitney-bred mares, and already has daughters of Dis Done; St. Germans, Grand Parade, Epinard, Sweep and Swynfordat the farm. Boys Howdy also is standing at the Paul Fred Farm and Higdon intends retiring Sweeping Light after this season. Charles Gross has arranged to ship Van-ita to Churchill Downs at the close of this meeting. Gross has been engaged to take a division of the Dixiana Stable to Detroit for that meeting. E. Sigman and J. H. Tate have dissolved partnership. Sassenach and Home Work ran under the E. Sigman colors and High Clover carried the J. H. Tate silks in their engagements Thursday afternoon. J. H. Tate will continue to train for E. Sigman. Jockey L. Dronet, who announced his retirement from the saddle during the New Orleans season, staged a comeback Thursday when he piloted Rip Van Winkle in the Park Inn Purse,
