MARACONNA, away fast and under steadying restraint while following the early pace, responded to strong pressure when reaching the lead, increased his margin under pressure and weakened fast in the last stages. ROYAL ROVER, allowed to lose ground from the start, moved up steadily after a half mile, and was wearing the winner down at the end. SINGLE WAVE, never far back, closed with a rush. OLEPAL, used up in pacemaking, tired rapidly in the final eighth. CHICLARD, outrun for three-quarters, finished strongly. ROSE HAZEN made up ground. WATCH IN quit. DARK SEEKER, away slowly, improved her positron rapidly after three-sixteenths drew clear after reaching the lead gave way after reaching the stretch, but held PROVEN safe. The latter, slow to begin and forced to lose ground while racing forward came through the field for the drive and finished strongly. LAMPORTE, shuffled back at the far turn, saved ground thereafter, but weakened after offering a bold bid in the stretch. JUSTICE B., used up in the opening three-eighths, weakened in the drive. SUGAR JAR tired. IMPERIAL BUNTY, forced to lose ground while racing forwardly, stopped under pressure. POLYPHOTE, away slowly, showed little. SILK FLAG quit. TRACKER, away slowly, but lucky to find room in the middle of the field while racing forwardly, closed with a rush. SASSENACH, a strong factor throughout, weakened after improving her position. RED ROD saved ground throughout. BONNIE PAN quit. COLLEEN B., shuffled back at the far turn, lost ground thereafter.. JUST IMPERIAL was never a factor HAPS BOY raced wide. SEMINOLE" QUEEN quit.
