AIRWAY IN STRETCH RUSH Fast Finish Brings Victory to Sauer Racer at Blue Bonnets- Track Heavy. MONTREAL, Que., June 5. Airway, W. L. H. Sauers seven-year-old chestnut gelding, provided the excitement in the feature for the eleventh day of the meeting of the Montreal Jockey Club, coming with a belated rush in the last furlong, in time to defeat F. Cpes Bobs Play, a recent arrival from Beu-lah Park, Columbus, by a length, going away. Pot au Mint, winner of his two previous races, was in third place, a half length before Thermal, a home-bred from the L. Le Boeuf barn, the property of Miss F. Tail-Ion. Whitharral, Harlem and Lonesome Glory completed the field, in the order named. A large crowd was again on hand for the days sport, which was raced over a heavy and holding track, caused by the heavy rains of Tuesday. There was a delay at the start of eight and a half minutes, caused by the unruly actions of Lonesome Glory, Bobs Play and the winner, but the field got away in good order, with J. D. Smith rushing the speedy Whitharral into command in the first quarter mile. Thermal was in second place, with Bobs Play third. These positions were unchanged in the run down the back stretch, with the exception of Whitharral, which drew away into a three-length lead. On the turn into the stretch Whitharral began to shorten strides and Pot au Mint moved up on the outside. Airway was still in sixth place, but gaining. In the run down the stretch Prain sent Airway into a drive and, coming up with a rush between horses, overtook the leaders and was going away at the end.
