COURT was away fast, dropped back on the turn, raced wide entering the stretch and finished determinedly under urging. MASKED BELLE, a contender from the start, lost ground on the turn and held on gamely. WAYALOFT was closest to the early leader for a half mile, but tired. SPIRITUELLE raced greenly. LADY CHARMIAN, showing good speed under hustling tactics, was taken to the inside after a quarter, saved ground entering the stretch, passed the leader on the inside and drew away under urging. FIRM HAND began quickly, raced RUSTIC LASSIE into defeat, came slightly wide into the. stretch and held on well. The latter followed, the early leader closely, but faltered in the drive. EA3Y SAILING, well back in the early stages when racing in between horses, closed stoutly. COUNT TETRARCH moved up fast on the turn, but faltered in the final sixteenth. CAMINO REAL was under mild restraint in the early stages, went to the inside in the stretch, but was not good enough. BACK LOG lacked racing room in the early part of the stretch and just failed to be third. JUDGE LEER and TRINCHERA raced each other into submission. The latter may have been short. ROYAL BLUNDER, rated along to the turn, moved up on the inside to save much ground, but was no match for the first two.
