DEAD HEAT PAY-OFF ! . I The mutuel pay-off on the dead J heat at Arlington Park in the sixth ! race, Tuesday, March 31, was as I shown in the chart of the race, i Straight mutuel odds on a head heat J J are figured the same as place pay-off ! in an ordinary race. j In wagers made away from the J track the chart prices should prevail 2 ,if track odds were offered and ac- j cepted. Where house odds, were ac- J cepted the procedure should be as f ol- J lows: If was bet on each horse and 1 2 1-2 to 1 laid on Whipper Cracker, j the pay-off should be .75 to the bet- j tor and .75 to the layer; if 2 to 1 ! was laid on Pulis the pay-off should j be .50 to the player and .50 to the j Jayer. ! The amount of money bet plus the j odds laid with the total divided j 1 equally between the bettor and layer J I is the regular method of pay-off in J dead heats where bookmaking odds prevail. j L
