HE DID IN DERBY WORKOUT Mrs. S. B. Masons Texas Derby Eligible Gallops One Mile in 1 :42 y5 Wears Blinkers. ARLINGTON, Texas, March 31. Mrs. S. B. Masons He Did, Santa Anita Derby winner and one of the favorites for the renewal of the Texas Derby, had a useful preparation for that important nine furlongs race over the inside course at Arlington Downs this morning, when he went a mile in 1:42, handily. Equipped with blinkers and beginning his task at the stand, the son of Victorian ran the quarter in :25, the half mile in :51, and the three-quarters in 1:17. The colt was under steady restraint during the opening three-quarters, but his rider allowed him to step along at a brisk pace during the last eighth. The Fighter. Milky Way Farms main threat for Texas and Kentucky Derby honors, breezed five-eighths in 1:01. He was accompanied by Whiskolo, and they reeled off the quarter in :24, and the half mile in :48. Both are eligible for the Blue Bonnet Handicap, Saturdays feature.
