FREEMAN, outpaced for five-eighths, worked his way to the loaders nearing the home stretch, swung to the outside for the closing drive and, finishing fast, was up in the last twenty yards. SCINTILLA, hard j ridden to hold early command, shook off TUDOR QUEEN, saved ground, but faltered under punishment after I facing straightened into the home stretch. TORCH MAIDEN left in the first flight, was well up all the way j 1 and came gamely for the closing test. TUDOR QUEEN forced a steady pace in the first five-eighths, but j tired when the real test came. MAE SKILLING was never dangerous. GAY BLADE quit after racing five- eighths. SAY WHEN broke quickly to move into an easy lead shortly after the start and held BISCAYNE BLUE safe under pressure. The latter raced stoutly while in nearest pursuit of the winner, but could not gain during the final drive. GLEAMING, shuffled back shortly after the start, closed full of run. WISE BUN left in the first flight, but failed to stay when the real test came. NOEL H. was forced wide to reach a y forward position and failed to rally for the closing issue. ZULU LAD, close to the leaders in the early racing, came to the outside to engage LADY PAL when nearing the home stretch, rallied nicely in the closing eighth and was going away at the finish under severe urging. LADY PAL forced a fast early pace, disposed of CENTERMARCH when leaving the back stretch, saved ground, but could not withstand the winner. QUEEN VIC worked her way up on the outside, but rould not threaten the first two in the final drive. CENTERMARCH was rushed hard to hold a slight lead in the first half mile, but was not good enough when challenged. MASKED QUEEN was unable to enter contention. CARDAMON was outrun. BAIN MARIE followed INCOGNITO closely after getting away nicely, took command when straightened into the home stretch and held on determinedly to withstand HURTLE. The latter, in tight quarters on the inside going into the turn, swung to the outside approaching the home srech, responded o severe punishment and closed with goodcouragc, then stumbled midway of the home stretch, but recoveredquickly. INCOGNITO showed good speed for three-eighths, then tired after saving ground. WINON, last to get going, was forced vide on the turn and could not menace in the final test. JAY BEE JAY showed a flash of speed in the opening eighth. ESQUI and DON DIABLO were outrun. Corrected weight Don Diablo, 115. . The latter worked her way up steadily on the outside in the last half mile, was placed to punishment when reaching the home stretch, but could not gain on the winner approaching the finish. DAME QUICKLY was hustled hard from the start, lost command when leaving the back stretch and tired gradually thereafter. ZOWIE was under vigorous urging all the way and had no excuse. TOANO raced in her best form, forced a fast pace and continued gamely after saving ground throughout. SHEPHERD BOY was hustled hard hard all the way, but tired in the last quarter. HEROWIN, badly outrun in the first half mile, circled his field to close with a belated rush. JOHN WERRING tired after racing five-eighths. Overweight Johnny Banc, 1 pound; Toano, 1; Corvus, 3.
