1 FAIR GROUNDS TURF NOTES I : e j Horsemen lost little time in packing their traps in preparation for shipment to north- i ern points after the close of the 112-day meeting at the Fair Grounds. Horses will be shipping to several sections of the country and Canada in the next three weeks. According to officials, the majority of thoroughbreds will see service at Aurora, 111. Seven carloads were being loaded for consignment to the Fox Valley Jockey Club Wednesday morning. Other cars will be made up daily, with some going to Ohio, Texas, Maryland, New York and Canada. The first express cars to get away from the Fair Grounds left Sunday night. One car, conveying the horses of W. A. Mikel, left for Arlington Downs, while another consigned to Louisville embraced the horses of F. P. Letellier and I. J. Collins. Three cars got away Monday night for Bowie. In one were the horses of E. K. Bryson and J. M. Zimmer, while the second Included the racers of Mrs. J. R. Gregory, T. Quinlan and W. M. Hunt. The third car, made up of five different owners, carried the stock of J. J. OByrne, H. Beheler, H. E Yorke, R. T. Watts and J. Author. Trainer O. Bagley shipped the Blue Ridge Farms Understand and Lame Duck back to Oaklawn Park Tuesday night. Lame Duck unloaded with a high fever and was unable to fill his engagement in the Louisiana Derby. However, the three-year-old has fully recovered and Bagley expects to have him back in training during the week. The local owner-breeder, F. P. Letellier, is dickering with L. M. Severson for the purchase of the sire Spic and Span. If successful Letellier will breed him to eight mares this spring and he will stand at Charles ; Blacks farm near Frankfort, Ky. The Bahr starting gate, used here during the long session, will be forwarded to "Aurora Wednesday. The consistent Camp Cook, which won five straight races here, and three two-year-olds were vanned to Louisville Tuesday. They are the property of Col. Ed Grater, who races under the Sherbrook Stable colors. C. A. Bidencope will ship Miss Envy and Louise Dire to Chicago Wednesday. According to Bidencope, he will take up six horses for L. M. Severson on his arrival in Chicago for racing in the Windy City area this summer. Miss Envy will be sent to the Severson farm and bred to Paul Bunyan this spring. The promising apprentice, H. P. Ferguson, left Monday by car with Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Coffey for Arlington Downs. After spending a week at Dallas, the Coffeys will return to Kansas City, Mo., their home. Among the riders leaving for Arlington Downs are H. P. Ferguson, H. Duncan, L. Turner, S. Hodges, M. Garrett, S. Young, F. Chojnacki, R. Haber and J. Longden. The veteran. Glen Smith, left Monday morning for Bowie. Jockeys H. Osborne, G. Atkins and G. Horn left Monday night for Toronto for vacations. They will return to Aurora for the opening at the Fox Valley Jockey Club. The leading rider of the meeting, C. Mo-jena, left for Havana Sunday night by airplane. He intends spending several weeks with his family before sporting silks at Aurora,
