FAIR GROUNDS EXODUS BEGINS . Five Carloads Leave New Orleans Monday Afternoon and Night. Three Cars of Horses Depart for Bowie With One Car Being Sent to Arlington Downs. NEW ORLEANS, La., March 31. Five carloads of thoroughbreds got away from the Fair Grounds Monday afternoon and Monday night for various racing centers. Three of the cars are destined for Bowie, one for Churchill Downs and the remaining express cars went to Arlington Downs. The latter bears Rushaway, winner of the Louisiana Derby Sunday, at the Fair Grounds, where the lengthy season reached its close. In the Texas car, along with Rushaway, was Miss Bam which formed the other part of the A. G. Tarn entry which ruled such a prohibitive favorite over the field as well as Lolschen, runner-up to Rushaway in the ,000 stake, and Flag Cadet, also a starter in the Derby from the barn of Butsey Hernandez. Clyde Troutts Palm Island, a candidate but a non-starter in the Louisiana Derby, heads the list of six racers that is included in the shipment for the Texas course. All of the aforementioned three-year-olds are eligible for the Texas Derby. F. P. Letellier, New Orleans turfman, loaded eight for Churchill Downs Monday morning and in the same shipment were included six, owned by I. J. Collins and one owned by W. L. Hoag. One car consigned to Bowie consists of nine thoroughbreds that race in the interest of E. K. Bryson and six owned by J. M. Zim-mer. The majority of the Zimmer band are two-year-olds and included Silver Palm, the winner of three races during the Fair Grounds meeting. J. J. OByrnes stable, headed by the three-year-old Reunited and the speedy juvenile filly, Ann Joy, had the greater portion of another express car that went to Bowie. Six of the racers were under the care of OBryne; H. E. York had one; R. T. Watts, three; A. Dyson, two; and H. Behler three. Hickory Lad, winner of the Louisiana Derby two years ago, tops the five horses that J. R. "Red" Gregory shipped to Bowie. In the same shipment were two owned by W. M. Hunt, two for Tommy Quinlan, and one for Jerry Coleman. Preparations are being made for many other departures during the week, with a. seven-car shipment being arranged to leave New Orleans Wednesday night for Aurora, 111. I
