1 BOWIE TURF NOTES S : Marshall Cassidy arrived Tuesday morning from New York. Among the jockeys who reported to the clerk of scales are Eddie Arcaro, J. West-rope, Silvio Coucci, Harry Richards, Carl Hanford, Frank Catrone, R. Merritt, R. Jones, S. Renick, J. Bejshak, L. Knapp, M. Wimmer and E. Shelhamer. The latter is an apprentice under contract to H. G. Bedwell and hails from Durango, Colo. Among the outstanding stables quartered in this section are A. G. Vanderbilt, with eighty-five in training in the Worthington Valley; Capt. P. M. Walker with forty-two and J. P. Jones with thirty-two. These two are at Pimlico and will van over each day. Hirsch Jacobs stabled at the track has forty-two horses in his care. Old Story, owned by F. K. Hastings collided with the fence while breezing and will be absent from racing for a short spell. Single Cloud, a two-year-old owned by E. K. Bryson, died Monday from shipping fever contracted en route from New Orleans. Burley Parke was among the arrivals from New Orleans. The Pennsylvania Railroad will have three special trains from Baltimore, two from Washington and one from Philadelphia. The latter train will make some local stops for the convenience of patrons. Post time is 2:30 for the first race each day. Mose Lowenstein arrived from Hot Springs with fourteen horses. The Bomar Stable vanned four horses over from Laurel and will increase this allotment later in the meeting. Grand Slam which is training satisfactorily at the farm will make his three-year-old debut in the Chesapeake Stakes at Havre de Grace. Walter OHara of Providence will be here for the first four days of the meeting. J. V. Stewart shipped over from Pimlico a division of the stable he had there. He : left eight at Pimlico. Among the arrivals from Hot Springs were M. Feltner, with twelve; R. Robertson, VC. with thirteen; H. G. Bedwell, eleven and J. Y. Christmas. Matt Smart transferred the Cary T. Grayson horses from Bennings to the track Monday. A division of the Wheatley Stable, in charge of Gecrge Tappen is expected from Aqueduct Tuesday. ; : i : , . i i
