1 ARLINGTON DOWNS NOTES I $ : 3 Plans have been launched for a gala observance of Texas Frontier Celebration Day Saturday, April 11, when the ,000 Frontier Celebration Handicap will top the eight-race program. Feature events will be named for Billy Rose, New York producer, who is to stage the Frontier Celebration; John Murray Anderson, world famous director, who will direct the extravaganza, and William Monnig, Fort Worth merchant, who is the guiding light of the Texas group in charge of the local arrangements. Miss Tulsa, stakes winner under the Black Gold Stable colors, foaled a chestnut colt by Kilkerry at Three Ds Stock Farm last night. The colt is one of the finest looking foals to arrive at Three Ds Stock Farm this year. Joe Houston, accompanied by Joe Smith, arrived from Lexington, Ky., and they expect to remain for several weeks of racing. Ross Higdon purchased the five-year-old mare Coya from Hynes and Beezley. Higdon reports that he had the firing iron applied to Revonah and the horse would be turned out at Bedford Stock Farm. B. Fulwider arrived from New Orleans with Eskimo, Kuvera, Little Cynic and No Doubt. Eddie Mack, director of publicity at Epsom Downs, Mrs. Mack and their daughter, Miss Dorothy Mack, arrived from Houston. They will remain for several days racing before proceeding to their home in Boston, Mass. Sidney Brown is distributing condition books for the Churchill Downs meeting. The Kentucky spring season gets under way on April 25 and among the stables going from here to the Louisville track are Valdina Farm, T. C. Worden, Milky Vay Farms, A. Pelleteri, Mrs. S. B. Mason and others. John Burns left for Bowie, Md., where he will make the engagements for jockey C. Hanford. Benny Creech is shipping the division of Mrs. A. M. Creechs stable he has here to Aurora at the close of this meeting and from there goes to Detroit for that season, which commences May 23. F. Chojnacki, one of the leading riders at New Orleans; F. Polk, who was setting the pace for the American riders until he was injured during the Crescent City meeting; H. P. Ferguson and L. Turner arrived from New Orleans Tuesday. Polk, who is under contract to E. B. Shipp, is with the C. Troutt stable. Arrival of the lads from New Orleans gives Arlington Downs eight of the top riders of the country. C. Mojena, who is second to Leroy Pierson, is the only absentee. H. C. Woolfe was a visitor at Arlington Downs from Hot Springs, where his horses are racing at the Spa meeting. He will return to Hot Springs Wednesday to make arrangements to ship his stable to Narra-gansett for the opening of that meeting. The Three Ds Stock Farm Stable Tuesday gave up the call on the services of apprentice A. Morgan. The lad will leave here in time to report to J. C. Ellis for the opening of the Churchill Downs meeting. Morgan is under contract to Ellis.
