-- - - - - - - RUMOR RACELAND MAY BE j J TURNED INTO DOG TRACK LEXINGTON, Ky., March 31 From Ashland this morning came rumors that in the event of the passage of the dog racing bill, which was introduced at Frankfort yesterday by Representative Harry C. Records, of Sparta, formerly identified with Paul Williams, of Carrollton, who operated dog tracks in various parts of the country, Race-land is to become a haven for the greyhounds. William T. Murray, fiscal manager at Coldstream Farm, however, says he has no knowledge of any deal for Raceland, having been proposed to C. B. Shaffer, master of Coldstream, who is the principal owner of the Raceland property. From time to time there have, been proposals, Murray said, but nothing has eventuated. The latest proposal of which he has knowledge came from parties at Hot .Springs, who have thoughts of putting Raceland into a circuit of horse tracks. Rumors come from Frankfort that the dog racing forces have gained strength in alliance with certain of the Chandler administration forces in the legislature and that the dog bill now has better prospects for passage than at the initial session of the legislature, where it was defeated. At any rate, the situation is such as to be alarming to farmers, breeders and others who see in dog racing a menace to the thoroughbred horse breeding industry of Kentucky. ,
