GAYETTE raced OFF SIDE into defeat and continued gamely to the end. BESS TAM dropped back to last place at the start, closed up gamely coming to the stretch turn and finished with good energy. SHEATHE could never threaten the leaders under urging. UNFURL had no speed at any time. OFF SIDE showed a Hash of speed, then quit badly through the stretch. Overweight Gayette, 1 pound. ANNAR1TA, quick to get in stride, was taken off the pace until well around the turn, then was allowed to run aljng to a very easy win. BE THERE, well placed and going gamely, closed with determination. GOLDEN EFFORT showing good early speed to the stretch, dropped back, then came again at the end. CALGARY KAY was never dangerous, although gaining in the last eighth. . THOTH delayed the start for some time, rated well for a half mile and then quit badly. DEAR HEART lacked speed all the way. KRONA, well back early, worked its way up on the outside and showed good courage in the final test. MISS MARED had trouble finding room until reaching the far turn, then dosed well from there to the end. TUFFET lost ground steadily throughout. EDDIE C. had a flash of early speed. FLAT ROCK moved into a long lead rounding the far turn but tired right at the end and could not hold the winner off. GOLDEN PLAY, also rated along early, closed much ground but could not menace the leaders. SIMPLE SINGER, well up at all times, ran an even race. MARYS MAY had no excuses.
